as very nice and quiet. she and her two-year-old son get exercise by walking at this complex every day, but now the other residents of growing concerns about their safety and security. >> we saw the police cars and flashing lights all over, which is unusual, because this is a very quiet neighborhood. >> they are investigating a home invasion and robbery. it happened around 9:00 friday night. >> when i saw the helicopter lights focusing on the deck and nearby, i thought something must be wrong. >> a woman was going to her apartment when she heard footsteps behind her. she tried to get in her home and a man with a gun came out from behind and demanded money pushing his way inside. the man took her purse and stole items from a second victim in the apartment. >> are really scared about that.

we thought this was pretty safe. obviously it's not. >> there was trouble last summer at the complex. >> it's frightening. >> they are a member of the resident's board. >> it's not the first time it's happened in this community, so it's getting very scary. shia been trying to get extra security. >> i'm glad the person is ok. maybe we should all talk is a community of, this particular village. the police say there is no description on the suspect and that their investigation continues. live from downtown baltimore, barry simms, wbal-tv 11 news. >> hagerstown police have charged a man and with attempted murder after a two-hour standoff. he allegedly stabbed a younger female family member in the torso. the 38-year-old is charged with possession of a deadly weapon.

they found the victim on the front porch of the home and she was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. he barricaded in his house and arrested him without using force after several negotiations. possibility of spending life in prison for a man accused of killing a man and his remains were discovered in a vacant learning home in baltimore city. back in april 2011, they found the charred remains of a man in the basement. after four days of trial, he was found guilty of murder, theft, and arson. he killed him during a dispute over drugs and then burn his body and stole his car. he is facing life and the sentencing is in april. >> almost one week after the training was shot in owings mills, they have named a new director of the department of education and training. major joseph smith was appointed

today and he will be officially introduced to recruit damned training instructors tomorrow when limited operations are expected to resume. he replaces maj russell put on administrative suspension. it, we discovered last tuesday that 46-year-old william kearn accidentally grabbed and fired his duty weapon money was supposed to be using a training weapon. the victim, at last check, is in critical condition. baltimore city democrats are moving one step closer to filling the seat. they nominated need our harbor to finish out harrison's term representing the district in the maryland house of delegates. she died last month. sure the longest serving delegate in the house and the first african-american woman ever to cherry legislative committee in maryland. her name will go before the committee on wednesday.
